1Forty-Four1 Services

1Forty-Four1 nurtured a duty to create and implement comprehensive, scientifically-based, orthopaedically-backed and performance driven systematic approaches to developing a more efficient human machine.  What was created is a constantly evolving school of thought, developed and put into practice by some of the most talented individuals in their respective fields working together to achieve a common good, the 1441 Training Systems.  The momentous product is a bridge between increasing in-game performance and reduction of the probability of injuries.

Continuous and countless hours of research, study and experience are the backbone behind the development of 1441.  A careful melt exists between our current understanding of human movement science with the latest finds in peer-reviewed research and up-to-date literature.  This symbiosis allows for the constant changing of programs and protocols to elicit a desired result.  Exercises and activities are abolished, created, adapted and/or modified accordingly.  Through it all, 1441 has held a common thread in the development of any program or complex designed.  The bond is the careful calculation of answering the question “Why?”  “Why are we doing this?” is always supported by its justified and practical relevance towards the achievement of a desired adaptation and commensurate increase in performance.

As a result of a team-oriented, multidisciplinary approach to the design and application of a sports performance program, comprehensive systems have evolved.  A melting pot of many of the most effective and successful training systems is combined with current scientific research to produce a very intensive, well-rounded and effective curriculum.  The use of standard free-weights is incorporated to develop a foundation for the development of 5 basic primal movements (Step Ups, Lunges, Squats, Upper Body Pull, Upper Body Push and any combination thereafter).  A multitude of therapeutic modalities are integrated to allow for evolutions towards structural stability and mobility.  This allows for greater transfer of forces and proper dissipation of those forces through the entire body, in turn decreasing the probability of injuries.

Olympic Lifts (Clean & Jerk, Snatch and all variations of), Plyometrics, and Assisted & Resisted movements are all methods employed as an effective means for increasing speed of movement.  Intensity of Functioning of Structures (IFS) and Body Building principles are used to illicit the effects of muscular hypertrophy and to increase tensile strength of connective tissue.   Active Isolated, active Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (aPNF), Dynamic & Static Mobility and Myofascial Therapy are some of the methods that we utilize to develop optimal range of motion.  The Spectrum/Concurrent Models, Periodization and Chaos Models are foundational methodologies built into the groundwork of our program.  This is a result of years of experience working with athletes in an attempt to minimize the development of plateaus, overreaching and overtraining, whilst encouraging optimal development commensurate with proper heterochonic maturity.

Through our research in the field of sports nutrition we have developed Chrononutrition Guidelines for optimal recovery and nutritional support.  Hundreds of members of the Tactical community, Fire & Rescue, athletes and coaches have offered tremendous direct and indirect feedback into the development of complexes and protocols that will lead to greater performance.  Biomechanist, Engineers, Mathematicians and all others work closely with our Performance Specialist staff to ensure that we are purposeful in our design and application of everything that we ask of our athletes.

Through all of this and much more, 1Forty-Four1 maintains its reputation as one of the most comprehensive and effective training programs and furthers the advancement of Human Movement Science.
