Surf n Turf
It’s almost that time of year again. The time of year when the air gets colder and the ocean sure as hell gets colder. Real Surf n Turf saturdays are almost here. Now I say real because we do it year round, but between December and February is when the weather can get down into the 30s and 40s in the morning and the Gulf is in the 50s.
Now we’re not some Polar Bear Club where you just get in and float around freezing water. We get in and we swim hard. And by swimming hard, we lose body heat and in cold water, we lose it 30 times as fast as you would in cold air. That’s when motor functions start to go out the window and you find yourself not able to speak. That would be hypothermia, friend.
So if some of you are saying it can’t be bad, they live in Florida. Come join us one windy, overcast morning in January when it’s 45 degrees out and the water is a brisk 53 degrees. Or just join us now and work your way into it.
Remember your _umbles!!!

Put me down for February.
